You might also like

Roman Army Museum
Brampton, CA8 7JB
An immersive Roman museum on Hadrian’s Wall focused on the soldiers who lived and served on the frontier. Films, reconstructed equipment and hands-on interpretation make it a stronger family experience than a display-only museum, and it pairs naturally with a wider Hadrian’s Wall day.

Victoria Tunnel
Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 2PQ
Take an atmospheric guided journey through Newcastle’s underground history in the preserved Victoria Tunnel. The tour brings local stories to life and is best suited to children who can manage a longer, darker walk; advance booking is usually required.

Alnwick Castle
Alnwick, NE66 1NQ
A large historic castle in Alnwick with state rooms, grounds, family activities, performances and hands-on experiences. Broomstick training is included with castle entry but requires a time-slot ticket. The Alnwick Garden and Lilidorei are separate attractions and are not included in a castle ticket. The 2026 public season closes on 20 October; check that day's opening and last-entry information before travelling.
