About this event
See Arbeia’s reconstructed Commanding Officer’s House in a different light on a twilight tour about Roman homes. Guide Sue Balmer explores how people lit their rooms before electric switches, with free time for visitors to look around the reconstruction themselves. For older children with an interest in history, the setting gives everyday questions about the past something tangible to connect to. Hot drinks and mince pies follow the tour, with time to ask the guide more questions. The event is for adults and children aged 12 and over, with two hour-long sessions on 12 December. Book your chosen start time in advance. This is a guided historical visit rather than a younger children’s festive entertainment programme.
