Choose a horse, cockerel or sleigh and take a festive spin on Hopetown’s Victorian carousel. Set on Foundry Green, the traditional ride adds a short burst of fairground nostalgia to a Christmas visit, with lights to enjoy as you go round. Ride tickets cost £4 per person and are bought at an on-site till, then handed to the operator; there is no advance online booking. Daytime rides run from 19–24 December, with additional evening rides on 18–20 December. For an evening visit, you also need admission to Christmas Nights at the Museum. Ask the operator about any rider restrictions or assistance before buying tickets if your child needs support getting on or riding.
