About this event
Twelve giant Snowman sculptures are waiting around Belsay’s gardens, each decorated by a different artist around The Twelve Days of Christmas. Pick up a map at the visitor centre and let children lead the hunt, comparing the designs and looking for the secret letter hidden on each sculpture. Collect all twelve letters to uncover a Christmas word. It turns a winter walk into a shared mission, with a familiar character for children and a touch of Raymond Briggs nostalgia for grown-ups. The trail is included with standard site admission, and English Heritage members enter free. It runs across the festive season into January, but visits depend on Belsay’s winter opening days. Check the admission calendar for your date and dress for exploring outdoors.
