About this event
Look closely around Gibside’s woodland and you may spot a tiny fairy home tucked into the roots. This seasonal trail gives children a reason to slow down, scan the trees and follow their imaginations, with miniature discoveries including a lighthouse for wandering sprites and the playfully named Glastonfairy. Start near Visitor Reception and ask the team where to pick up the woodland route. The trail is outdoors, so warm layers and footwear suited to winter paths will help everyone enjoy the search. There is no separate activity ticket beyond normal admission. Check Gibside’s actual opening days and holiday closures before travelling: the broad trail date range should not be read as confirmation that the estate is open every day, including Christmas.
