About this activity

A useful starting point for exploring the Derwent Walk and nearby woodlands. Families can follow the short sculpture trail, look for woodland wildlife and stop for refreshments at the visitor centre. The nearby bird observation hide requires a key, available from the centre, and the same key provides access to several other Gateshead hides. Woodland paths can be muddy or uneven after wet weather.
