About this event
Take a break from the days between Christmas and New Year with a heritage train ride at Stephenson Steam Railway. The four-mile historic urban line gives train-loving children a proper journey to enjoy, with departures on 30 and 31 December. Back at the museum, explore displays about George and Robert Stephenson and look for Billy, one of the world’s oldest surviving steam locomotives. The combination of a ride and railway history gives families more to do than simply board and head home. The organiser recommends pre-booking; check the current ticket page for prices and availability. These are the post-Christmas Winter Warmers services, with no Santa encounter or festive gift advertised as part of the ride.
