Fireworks, family fun and autumn nights
A few ideas to get you sorted
Looking for somewhere to watch the fireworks this Bonfire Night? We’ve pulled together the confirmed 2026 displays and family fireworks events currently in the directory, from Blyth and Newcastle to Sunderland, Durham and Stockton.
Bonfire Night tends to stretch across a few evenings rather than landing on one single night, so have a mooch through the dates and find a display that works for your family. Some are free or community-led, while others are ticketed nights with funfairs, food, racing or entertainment alongside the fireworks.
Pick the sort of night you fancy
Want something straightforward? Look for a town or seafront display. Fancy making more of an evening of it? Ticketed events may add fairground rides, music, food, racing or pre-show entertainment. Have a look at what is included before comparing prices.
- Check the event date, gates or doors time and the expected fireworks time.
- Look at whether tickets are on sale, limited or still to be announced.
- For community displays, wait for the organiser to confirm access and admission details.
A few things worth knowing
Fireworks nights can be noisy, busy and later than little ones are used to. Wrap up warm, allow extra time for queues and travel, and check the official listing for parking, public transport and any restrictions before you head off.
For younger children
A shorter display with an early finish may suit toddlers better than a full evening event. Ear defenders can be a good idea for children who find bangs a bit much, and it is worth checking whether the event has quieter areas or any sensory information before booking.

Have a look at the eventBefore you head off
- Dates, prices and ticket availability can change, so check the official event page before travelling.
- Some listings are confirmed before full timings or admission details are available — treat “to be announced” as just that.
- Wrap everyone up well and plan for waiting outside, even when the fireworks themselves are fairly short.
- Check the journey home in advance; busy roads and tired bairns are not the ideal combination after a late display.
