About this activity

Hopetown Darlington brings together railway heritage in historic buildings and the outdoor Wagon Woods adventure play park. Free site admission includes North Road Station Museum, the Darlington Locomotive Works viewing gallery and The Stores, as well as outdoor areas. A free admission ticket is required, and some exhibitions, events and experiences carry a separate charge. The site opens Tuesday–Sunday in term time and daily during school holidays, from 10am to 4pm; check last entry when booking.

Cragside

A large National Trust estate combining an innovative Victorian house with lakes, woodland, gardens and miles of walking routes. Families can visit the adventure play area near Crozier car park and explore Nelly's Moss lakes. The six-mile Carriage Drive connects the main areas. National Trust members and under-fives enter free. House, entrance and grounds have different closing times and winter arrangements vary.
