About this event
Watch the winter countryside go by from a heritage steam train on Tanfield Railway’s Mince Pie Specials. The six-mile return journey travels through a wooded valley, and the day-rover ticket lets families ride more than once or break the journey at different stations. Adults receive a mince pie and hot drink, while children have juice and a biscuit. It’s an outing for the quieter days after Christmas, with services on 27, 28 and 31 December. Join at Andrews House or East Tanfield and use the published timetable to plan stops and return journeys. Tickets must be booked online in advance, including reservations for Tanfield Unlimited ticket holders; they are not sold on the day. Parking is free, and eligible carers travel free with supporting proof.
